GNG Football Club

GNG Football Club is one of the largest diverse football clubs in the UK, attracting members from all backgrounds and communities. The club was founded in the 1960s. The first ever team was entered into the league in 1969 and played on public park pitches rented from the council for a number of years. Over a period of time and as the club became established further men's teams were entered into the leagues.

During the past few seasons the club has driven steady progression, surpassing achievements of the early years. The senior team won the Leicester City League Championship and gained entry into the Leicester and District League Division One. After an initial year to reinforce itself, the club won promotion to the Premier Division of the league.

There is a healthy level of FA Qualified coaches at the club who will drive continual improvement in players' performances and training techniques in the future. Recently a successful junior section has been added to the club. The club can now accommodate players from the age of 4 years old right through to adults. Leicester City Football Club works closely with the club to supplement coaching requirements

The club works closely with other organisations to eradicate racism and make football at all levels an all-inclusive sport.

The club has worked with Leicester City Council and the Football Foundation to highlight the lack of facilities for grassroots football in Leicester. The three way partnership, helped by other city clubs, has secured enough funding to develop up to 11 sites across Leicester enabling thousands of budding footballers to participate in our national sport.

This funding includes our own ground development which will provide a healthy base for the club in the future. Providing top of the range facilities that will caters the needs of everyone involved with the club
