GNG Lions U9 v Hamilton Youth Titans U9 - 02/10/2011

GNG Lions turned up on matchday in mood for a battle. Training the day before was one of the best training sessions the lads have had on Victoria Park.

The players took on board everything said and put it into action on matchday. Pressure was applied right from the handshake with the lions cutting the titans defence in two time after time.

A loose ball picked up by Jack Humber was threaded through to star striker Josh Topplis who was making his home debut, where he went past 3 players and calmly slotted home for his first of the day.

The floodgates then opened, a pinpoint corner from Owen found Ryan unmarked in the box to score a bullet of a header into the top left hand corner.

Goals from Jack and more from Ryan soon followed to take us in at half time with a 5 goal advantage. Plenty of fluids taken in due to the hot conditions and instructions from the manager to go out there and zip the ball about and to get the ball out onto the right where we looked most dangerous proved fruitful.

The lions did this with a relentless tempo which has not been witnessed before. 11 seconds half goals then followed.

With 4 hatricks each from Ryan, Said, Owen and Josh helped along the way by 2 from jack and one a peice from Alfie and Arun. This was the manager's, Coache's, and parent's and players proudest moment so far.
